Horse Show Staff (Paid or Volunteer)

Horse Show staff assists in running  horse shows in many capacities.  We have gate people who organize the competitors and assist them in getting in / out of the ring in a safe and organized manner, jump crews who change jump heights and pick up fallen rails in a timely manner, ring stewards who ensure that warm-up areas are safe and organized, office staff who calculate results and manage ribbons/prizes, and even floaters who clean up the rings, fill in for other positions, and check on facilities throughout the day.

Show Secretary

The Show Secretary is responsible for managing show entries on the day of the show and reporting after the show.  We host hunter shows and horse trials on select Sundays, and a handful of summer evening jumper shows. The show secretary must be organized, efficient, and good with people.

Working Student

This position is designed for a full-time immersion into our business, where the working student would be grooming, tacking, tidying the barn, working with students, barn manager, and vet/farrier in exchange for an intense lesson schedule with top professionals with your horse or one of ours, possible board for your horse, free additional riding time on our horses, and/or living quarters.

We also have some part-time positions available, where working hours are applied toward lessons/board expenses.

Barn Manager

The Barn Manager is a key role for ensuring the health and well-being of our horses.  You will working closely with boarders, owners, instructors, vets and farriers.  Excellent timely communication and organization skills are required.  Attention to detail is paramount.  You must have a minimum of 3 years experience for this position, with 5+ years preferred.  Duties include hands-on horse care, and also includes scheduling professionals, communicating with clients, and managing barn staff. Must have skills for horse handling, grooming, tacking, determining basic lameness, basic wound care, leg wrapping, pulling manes, clipping, meds (incl. IM / IV ), etc.   Competitive pay for a qualified, motivated, reliable individual in this full-time position.   Available live in or out.  Possible board for horse(s).

We have an excellent team of staff, clients, and professionals to work with.  Possible splitting of the position into boarder horse manager and schoolhorse manager, or manager and assistant manager.

Peppermint Patty

Beginner – Intermediate level

Peppermint Patty would love to introduce your child to riding!  Bombproof QH type that can also jump.

Ally

Intermediate/Advanced level
Paint/ QH| 14.3 hands | 11 years

Ally is kind and sweet.  She has lovely ground manners, and always tries her best.  She is a great jumper too.  We expect she will be suitable for beginners soon.  She is available for lessons and lease.

Charlie Brown

Beginner – Intermediate level

Charlie Brown is an experienced hunter and eventer pony that is currently partially leased.  He is older now, so stepping down to easier lessons/shows.
