We are so excited to be opening our facility up to all competitors, from all local stables, including our Red Gate Farm students!  We've upgraded our facility for shows to include many new jumps, a secretary stand, judge's stand, and spectator seating!  Our shows have always been fun and geared for children!  And our ribbons are adorable!  Come and join us!

Here are the details on how the shows work:  An outside, independent judge is hired to decide on the placings of the riders.  Ribbons will be awarded to the top 6 riders in each class.  Champion and Reserve Champion will be awarded in each division.  The shows operate under the rules of the VHSA (Virginia Horse Show Association).  Points earned from ribbons will be reported to the VHSA, and recorded here at Red Gate Farm.  Red Gate Farm will have a banquet at the end of the year that recognizes the top 6 riders in each division for the year 2008.

Trailer parking is available in our field with easy access to the ring and facilites.  Playground for young children, picnic tables under shaded pavillion and bathrooms are available, as well as water for your horses.

Quite a nice selection of food and drink is available at our snack bar, including coffee and doughnuts in the morning, and hot dogs and hamburgers, chips, candy, fruit, slushie drinks, fresh-popped popcorn, and MORE for lunch.

And if you are in the afternoon classes, you will find the fences and courses straightforward, normally with small class sizes.

We encourage all beginners, kids, first-time competitors, even adult beginners to begin showing at Red Gate Farm.  Our staff will assist young riders in Pattern Ride and Pre-Short stirrup classes if needed.  Classes with young children will receive small prizes in addition to ribbons. Red Gate Farm wants everyone to have a pleasant, safe, and fun experience.   Good luck to all!!
