We offer group, semi-private and private English riding lessons on a year-round basis. Classes are held weekly, and our extensive schedule accommodates all age and experience levels.

GENERAL POLICIES

 

RATES             

$45 per lesson for GROUP LESSONS.  Lessons are pre-paid in blocks, working out to be a semester at a time.  Summer / Winter semesters include 8 lessons for $350.  Spring and Fall semesters include 15 lessons for $650. 

$55 per lesson for SEMI-PRIVATE LESSONS ( 2 or 3 people )  Semi-private lessons are set up individually by calling Rebecca at (571) 212-4928.  Blocks available at a discount.

$65 per lesson for PRIVATE LESSONS ( 1 person ) Private lessons are set up individually by calling Rebecca at (571) 212-4928. Blocks available at a discount.

RIDING LEVELS
YOU MUST SHOW ALL SKILLS ON A VARIETY OF HORSES TO MOVE UP IN LEVEL

Beginner 1 – No experience

Beginner  2 – Posting at trot, reverse & circle without slowing, halt, jumping position, trotting poles

Beginner 3 – Trot well in a group, trot short course of crossrails (1’), beginning canter individually, knows diagonals, sit trot

Intermediate 1 – Canter with proper leads in group, canter jumping lines, trot courses (18”), trot without stirrups

Intermediate 2 – Canter courses (2’), simple lead changes

Intermediate 3 – Leg yield, more technical courses (2’6”), canter without stirrups, x-country course (2’3”)

Advanced – Flying lead changes, courses over 2’6”, more advanced dressage

CANCELLATIONS

Instructor will call you to cancel the class due to weather. Unless you receive a call, assume we are riding. We ride on most holidays and snow days except Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and 4th of July.

For cancellations from students, a 24-hour notice is required to get a make-up lesson.

ARRIVAL TIME

Arrive on time for the first class, and 10 minutes early for a later classes. (You may need to tack up.)

AGE REQUIREMENTS

Group lessons are for ages 8 and up, grouped by ability.  Private lessons are from ages 4 and up.

CLOTHING & EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS

A hardhat is required.  You must also wear shoes with a heel and long pants. NO SHORTS. We have some equipment to borrow. Dress appropriately for the weather.

All tack, saddle & bridle, is provided.
