We offer full-service, excellent care for your horse or pony. There is an owner / manager on the premises year-round. To ensure plentiful pastures and ring availability, we limit the number of horses on the property.

FACILITIES

Located on 18 acres, our farm is a pleasant size. We pride ourselves on a professional yet warm, family atmosphere.

At Red Gate Farm, we offer:

12-stall center-aisle barn huge outdoor, well-maintained riding ring with sand footing, jumps, lights, and spectator area  - 120' x 200' new indoor arena with rubber footing, jumps, and lights - 66' x 120' cross-country course with coops, ramps, logs, ditches from 1' to 3' grass dressage small arena - 66' x 136' in summer months huge outdoor pavillion with picnic tables

wash area pony dry lot (no grass) isolation paddock heated tack room run-ins in all fields grassy pastures with trees excellent teaching staff family-run facility frequent handling & inspection of your horse

RATES & POLICIES

Please contact us to discuss pricing and board options. Our boarding is very limited, and usually full.  A discount is given for horses used in our lesson program based on the availability of the horse. Preference for boarding is given to schoolhorses.

·         Board options: 

$600 Full care board, when space permits

$500 Full care with partial usage (6 lessons each week)

$400 Full care for schoolhorse (12 lessons each week)

$325 Basic field board with partial usage

$425 Basic field board, when space permits

All full-care board includes regular care (stall, standard feed, hay, turnout, blanketing, fly control), use of facilities, and coordination of additional care (vet, farrier, worming, teeth, etc.)

Basic field board includes hay in winter and use of facilities

Our philosophy:  We allow as much turnout as possible in a herd, closely resembling the natural habitat for horses.  This provides constant grass/hay and the opportunity to keep moving.  Turnout reduces boredom, vices, ulcers, colic, and arthritis.  We find it also keeps our horses happy, as they prefer companionship with other horses. Sorry, but individual turnout is not an option here.  In addition, mares and gelding are typically turned out together.

  ·         Additional Fees: Worming, holding for vet/farrier, training, tack cleaning, mane pulling, lay ups, etc.

Horses must have a negative Coggins test dated within the past year. All boarders and riders must sign a liability waiver. This is a family facility, so no biters, kickers, cribbers, youngsters, etc . please.
